Hello guys, I hope you're doing well.

Today's lesson is going to be about the Structure of a Composition.

Let's start with a small definition.

What is a Composition?

A Composition is an academic paper designed to develop a specific topic with a specific format. It is generally made of one paragraph.

Structure of a composition.

INTRODUCTION

It must have an introductory or Topic Sentence. This sentence is the first one in the composition.

Its element is the Topic Sentence, in which mentions the main points and the topic.

Function

  •  It has to be a complete sentence: it cannot be just phrases or fragments.
  •  It is the first idea or concept that the author wants to communicate.
  •  It contains the main idea.
  • It mentions the points that the paragraph is about to cover.
  • It has to catch the reader's attention.

Structure of the Topic Sentence.

Topic: It shows what the composition is about.

Main points: They explain the aspects or points that you are writing about. Those aspects or points could be explicit or implicit.

EXAMPLE IN A PARAGRAPH ABOUT EXERICSE:

Doing exercise would help us in many aspects since keep our weight, loss weight, to prevent diseases, and for health.

DEVELOPMENT

Development's functions

  •  It mentions the main points in sentences, also called controlling idea.
  • It gives some examples that are prove and give support to the main points.

Main point

It starts with a controlling idea, mentioning a fact, information, or your opinion, but usually it is an adjective.

Supporting ideas: They are examples that prove and support the information that you are giving.

CONCLUSION

The conclusion is always a concluding sentence. It is pretty important to remember that the concluding sentence is not a summary about all the information. The conclusion restates the specific points, but it cannot be a summary; also, you cannot add new information about the topic.

Here, we have a paragraph in which all these points that we just recovered are highlighted.

And that's it for today guys, I hope you learn the Paragraph Stucture.

See you next week, byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
