SIXTH LESSON: BODY PARAGRAPH

 Hellooooooooo, in this lesson you will learn how to make a body paragraph properly.

First of all, let's start by answering this question:

WHAT DOES A BODY PARAGRAPH IS ABOUT?

A body paragraph it's about developing and explaining the main points that are in your introductory paragraph. Also, in the body you can provide some examples, to prove what you are writing.

Let's take a look at this essay in process, paragraph 2.

                                                                 Workaholism Problem (TOPIC)

INTRODUCTION

           Have you ever wondered if you are a workaholic? (CATCHING PHRASE) Although it seems unlikely, this is a problem that has been in society for a long time. Despite it being believed that workaholism is not so grave, it is actually a very serious problem. These days, this condition has increased bringing with it numerous side effects.  Workaholism has caused a lot of consequences(MAIN IDEA) in people, but the most common are problems in their social life, psychological factors, and health disturbances. ( MAIN POINTS are included on the thesis statement)

BODY 

                   Firstly, the workaholic people experience some troubles in their social life. (MAIN POINT 1) Since its time is reduced because these people prefer to work instead of share time with their families or friends. Also, a workaholic can have problems keeping or forming a relationship with any person. (SUPPORTING IDEAS, EXAMPLES) This leads to a second consequence, which is some psychological factors. (MAIN POINT 2) A workaholic can develop depression due to the uncontrollable need for work incessantly. In addition, this need could be developed because these people have debts. (SUPPORTING IDEAS AND EXAMPLES)These conditions lead to a third consequence which is health disturbances. (MAIN POINT 3) Workaholic people will be affected because of the appearance of diseases such as hypertension and high levels of cholesterol. Hypertension is caused by the stress that these people handle. Just as high levels of cholesterol are caused by working long hours. (SUPPORTING IDEAS AND EXAMPLES)

As you can see in the previous example, I mentioned the main point first. After mentioning the main point, you have to start providing information, as for example, supporting ideas that sustain your main. Also, remember to provide examples to prove what you are writing, it could be an event, experience, or something that you found in your research.
